We have now travelled from coast to coast and have clocked up 8,000 kms in doing so. We are on the Mid North Coast of NSW and are amazed at how many large rivers flow into the Pacific Ocean. The Great Dividing Range is the start of these rivers – we have seen the Bellinger, Kalang, Nambucca, Macleay and Manning – all winding their way down creating beautiful valleys before reaching the ocean.
The coastline is really beautiful with its sometimes ruggered headlands and lovely beaches.
Keen fishermen hope for a good catch on the tides.
Seagulls are ever present. He only threw one chip!
Standing on a granite headland the Smoky Cape Lighthouse near South West Rocks guides ships and boats safely past the area. When we visited we could see whales breaching off in the distance.
It really is a beautiful coast – but I do miss the white sandy beaches of WA.
As you said, it is a beautiful área…Your beautiful photos are bringing back lots of fond memories.
You may have to visit again some time.
Looking on and measuring the map and scale I saw that Europe from Gibraltar of Malta to Cape North in Norway measures about 5000 km, and from east, the Oeral-mountains, to the western point of Ireland is about the same kilometers. So Australia is larger than Europe.
Seeing the beautiful pictures we realize we should visit again Australia. No idea it was such a large continent. We came some years ago from Holland-Madrid-Lima-Santiago de Chile-Easter.Island-Tahiti.Island-Wellington NZ. In Australia we traveled the marvelous ‘track’ Sydney-Melbourne-Kangeroe.island-Adelaide-Alice Springs-Ayers Rock-Sydney and surroundings, continuing our journey in the wrong – western – direction “around the world in sixty days” ( 59 days), to Bangkok -London GB -Amsterdam – home in Holland. We missed the triangle Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, a.s.o. Next time.
go on happy and audacious travelers
un caro saluto,

What an amazing trip you had. Our 8,000 kilometres includes a lot of zip zagging and a lot of sightseeing as well. The distance between Perth and Sydney is out 3,800 kms I think!
Looks like you’re enjoying a wonderful trip! Love that part of the NSW coastline!
Yes very beautiful around here.
What an amazing trip you have had. Australia is a beautiful country.
Yes it is wonderful. We are more than half way through our trip and are looking forward to see more of NSW.
