Finally the weather has started to improve in the south west of WA and we are getting some warmer dry weather. It has been cold and wet for what seems like an eternity.
The wildflowers have been out for months but because it has been so miserable I think the orchids have been too afraid to pop out of the ground, but I finally got to see one, only one, this weekend. Quite a few varieties grow in the area so hopefully next year I will get to see some more.
Many of the other flowers are nearing the end of the season, but still worth a stroll through the forest to enjoy what is in bloom.
All these delicate little flowers were within a few hundred metres. The variety of colours and shapes are part of natures beauty.
Lovely Shots Kerry xx
Thanks Denise…the walks around Margaret River are lovely.
BIG hello to u both.
Thanks heaps for the flower shots. Magic to say the least. We’ve been dodging some weather too with a weekend camping at Brunswick diverted to a BnB in the Mooloolah Valley. They have very steep 18 acres with paths leading down to valley floor where King Ferns are growing madly. They were declared some years ago as endangered and now seem to popping up more regularly. We struck up a super friendship with the owners who gave me several pieces/cutting from her orchids. They are growing well with two already flowering for me. Very excited only now have to keep them going. Enjoy yr travels and hope we can catch up. Xx R n J
We really must get up to your part of the world. Perhaps 2018!
Nothing can compare to Western Australia’s wild flower display in Spring. I wish we could have them in Europe! Beautiful photos!
This is just a very small sample of our wildflowers….they are very spectacular in most of WA.
Beautiful flowers. The centre of Australia looked similar when we were there in September. All because of the massive rainfall!
Amazing how they flowers pop up, even after a couple of years of drought or dry. To see the carpets of flowers in the outback is beautiful.
Wildflowers are absolutely beautiful. Awesome pictures you took!
